Dr. Bealka uses the state-of-the art ultrasound technique to remove the cataract. Rather than the common place injection anesthesia, Dr. Bealka uses the anesthetic eye drops to achieve comfort of the eye. A beam of ultra sound is directed at the cataract, turning it into a slurry. This slurry is then removed and replaced with a patient specific, state-of-the-art lens implant. This process rarely requires any eye stitches. The result is often rapid visual recovery, immediate resumption of normal activities and less lid swelling, and bruising compared to the older technique.
